LISA Academy’s inaugural Education Committee dinner was an unequivocal success! Our excitement for the inaugural dinner began at our front door with administrators and students in suits ready to welcome the legislators and other invited guests into our school. Our choir stood regally ensconced in their performance regalia of tuxedos and formal dresses. As our guests entered the cafeteria they were welcomed by student servers and beautifully arrayed tables. Roughly forty student volunteers helped set up, serve and entertain at the catered dinner.

LISA Academy was able to showcase its many talents through the inaugural dinner. The colors were posted and the choir sang the National anthem. Senator Jimmy Jeffress gave a brief address and specifically mentioned that several members of the Education Committee were former educators. Both Senator Jeffress and his brother Senator Gene Jeffress were music teachers and were touched by the choir’s appearance and performance. An informative PowerPoint showcased our school’s numerous academic awards and achievements. After a lovely dinner, Ms. Foor introduced her competitive Middle School Quiz Bowl team members. Representative Eddie Cheatham awarded the team their medals and trophies from the regional and state tournaments in which they won first place. Ms. Hart introduced her Science Quiz Bowl team members and Senator Kim Hendren awarded the team their first place regional trophy.
